  • Welcome to my blog!

Glasses-clad student-ly type by week, colorful and creative photographer by weekend, and wife and mother first and always!

If you're looking for photography in the Bryan/College Station area that is more than a standard look at the camera and smile "Christmas card" shot, I'm the photographer for you!

I strive to make every session a reflection of you and who you are, and photograph everyday common kisses, hugs, laughs, and smiles with creativity...and add in a touch of whimsy, a dash of style, and a spattering of sparkle and it becomes wall-worthy art!

I heart faces–Pink

So I was going to skip the I Heart Faces challenge this week (just too busy!) but seriously, how could I resist a pink challenge? Especially since I have all this pink cuteness right here in front of me?

I adore the cropping here – so dramatic – the white space is so powerful and makes the pink have that much more punch, even though such a soft pink. Lovely image!

Beautiful…love the positioning!

Mary, Mary quite (not) contrary…

So I seem to have been doing things a little out of order lately–I will usually post a sneak peek to the blog a few days after your session, then some of my favorites to a facebook album along the way before dropping off your completed CD…but this session is all backwards, so this is more of a final peek than a sneak peek!

Nonetheless, here it is:

I love little Miss Mary in this dress borrowed from Lyla’s future closet–it suits her goofy and carefree personality (she reminds me of my Lyla:))

Can’t wait to meet little Mr. Gabriel later this month!

I Heart Faces–A touch of sun on beautiful Miss Riley

This girl is just gorgeous…as I was going through flagging photos from her session I was thinking about just how much trouble I was in time-wise since there are so many beautiful photos of her.

This one just happened to be perfect for I Heart Faces‘ touch of sun challenge this week:

So addicted to lovely twinkly light bokeh through the trees lately!

Those eyes! Her eye contact, relaxed face, fabulous lighting…if all the shots are like this, you WILL have a hard time narrowing the final tally!

Gorgeous and breathtaking.

Think about it Thursdays–signature props

So I have a little dilemma…I want to choose a signature newborn prop–something I use for every newborn session and leave behind for you to remember me by:)…I actually try to leave something behind at every session, but in this case I want to pick one, special signature prop for newborns.

So for my little newborn girls, I’ve already decided to leave behind a teeny, tiny pair of shoes–a) because I love shoes, b) because it’s so hard to find super-cute newborn shoes, c) because it emphasizes just how teeny tiny your little one was, and d) because Jessica at Joyfolie was kind enough to teach me how to make them at last year’s Makerie crafting retreat and though I’m sworn to secrecy on the techniques of their making, and agreed not to sell them, I suppose I can give them away:)

So here’s little Miss Sunny Sidney’s shoes (in a beautiful shade of yellow) that I packaged up with her CD and left for her:

But I’m not sure what to do for my newborn boys…it has to be something I can make, or can easily learn to make…some things I came up with were teeny little crowns in fun prints, tiny ties, or a little quilt…sadly my knitting and crochet skills are limited, so I’m not sure if I can manage a knitted hat or blanket (though if it’s a simple hat or blanket, I may be able to learn).

Anyways, what would you all like to see as far as a boyish newborn prop? Leave a comment below and let me know what you’d like to see!
