  • Welcome to my blog!

Glasses-clad student-ly type by week, colorful and creative photographer by weekend, and wife and mother first and always!

If you're looking for photography in the Bryan/College Station area that is more than a standard look at the camera and smile "Christmas card" shot, I'm the photographer for you!

I strive to make every session a reflection of you and who you are, and photograph everyday common kisses, hugs, laughs, and smiles with creativity...and add in a touch of whimsy, a dash of style, and a spattering of sparkle and it becomes wall-worthy art!

First birthday photos for a special College Station kiddo!

Such fun seeing kiddos grow up! Mr Birthday boy and his sister were one of the first sets of kiddos I ever photographed, and it has been a pleasure to see him grow this past year…I can’t believe he’s already a year old! Birthday boy is a total Mommy’s boy, and all-boy, all the time (one piece of evidence–a bruise on his forehead–was edited out;))…and just loved the icing on his yummy cupcake!

A few of my favorites:

Happy Birthday Mr. One Year Old! Can’t wait to see you again!

Laid back family photos for one of the sweetest College Station families :)

Meet one of the loveliest, sweetest families I’ve met.  Their land just outside College Station and the great outdoors provided the perfect backdrop for some laid-back, relaxed photos of them just having some family fun time. Oh man, it was windy…and I wasn’t sure the sun would come out to play–but it made a few appearances;)The little guy there provided the entertainment, Grandma and Grandpa provided the kisses, and Mom and Dad provided the tickles:)Though this handsome little guy is the center of attention and the only little one in the family right now, it won’t be for long since a little brother or sister as well as a little cousin are on their way!

Some of my favorites:

Gorgeous mom, handsome dad, happy kid, loving grandparents…what more could a photographer ask for?

I Heart Faces-beautiful black and white-bryan college station photographer

This week’s I Heart Faces challenge is beautiful black and white. This is a photo I took of my Lyla a month or so ago, shortly before her soothies (aka binkies, aka pacifiers!) got a dose of curry powder on them and were forever rejected (very effective solution for a soothie addicted toddler!) I really wanted to capture the drama (and trust me–she was *very* dramatic about her soothies!) of her soothie addiction before she underwent treatment:)It’s a little out of the box for me, since not only do I rarely do B&W’s since I’m a color junkie, but this was shot via my first attempt at using lamplight.

Here’s my dramatic little toddler feeding her soothie addiction:

Dramatic is right! This image just pops off the page! I love that–with all the drama–it’s an everyday scene. Nice composition as well.

Sunny Sidney at 7 months

Little Sidney was one of the first newborns I photographed (you can see her in all her newborn glory HERE)…and I just *love* seeing how much she’s grown and all her cute little chub and rolls:)She’s just such a happy little beauty.

A

Little Sidney is wearing a necklace from Brooke’s Angel Wings in the next few shots–these necklaces are sold to help the Rahn family heal financially and emotionally from a devastating accident wherein Brooke was seriously injured by a dresser that tipped on top of her. You can read Brooke’s story HERE. Brooke and her family now do everything they can to bring awareness to the importance of strapping and anchoring furniture to your walls.

A few other favorites from Sidney’s session:

Love this Matilda Jane Shabby top on little Sid. The headband she’s wearing is available here.

Sidney just learned to crawl the day before our session so she demonstrated her newly found crawling skills:

It’s never too late for some gorgeous “engagement” photos :)

These two have been married several years already but never had any beautiful, cuddly engagement photos taken…so of course we had to remedy that problem:)

I think we fixed that problem! Much as I look wiggly, squirmy, happy, high energy toddlers (like my own), it’s kind of refreshing to photograph relatively still subjects for a change!
